[Boatanchors] soldering stations

I feel the very best soldering stations for general purpose, both
professional and hobby, are the Weller stations that use the clicking magnetic
temperature control in the tip - not via a dial on the base unit. The tips can be quite
finely pointed but still have enough mass to do a nice quick joint. You
can leave them on all day at full temperature and never burn up the tip or the
element.

Examples of this sort of station include the Weller WTCP-series. New units
typically cost $90-$100 but you can get servicable used units on eBay.
