Many people have rocky soil (me too) which makes it literally impossible
to drive an 8ft rod into the ground. The goal is a GOOD connection to Ol'
Mother Earth. and an 8ft rod, straight down, is one way. There are many
others; bury ground radials a few inches under the surface, bury some
flat copper strap (low impedance) a few inches under the surface (I found
some copper gutter and flashing at the scrap yard, cut that up into 4"
wide strips, and used it). Scrap heavy guage wire which you can find
surplus is good too. The whole idea is to provide good ground CONTACT,
like in many square inches, and make that the "Path of Least Resistance".
Electrons always follow the path of least resistance, every time
...............and they know.

I need to install a new 8' copper ground rod. Does anyone have any hints
to
make it a little easier? I have kind of rocky soil.
Thanks
