About a month ago I started a thread about my decision to
find an all purpose soldering station that did not break the
bank, instead of my three economy irons and the gun. We
discussed the pro's and con's of several possibilities.
How did I ever do without it?! I am now the proud owner of a
Weller WES51. It is fully adjustable (about 350 to 850 deg
F) and has a very lightweight iron with an outstanding tip.
The thing heats up to full set temp in 30 SECONDS! And for
the frequent old timers disease I seem to encounter more and
more, it shuts off after 90 minutes of inactivity.
The people at Weller (Cooper Tools) are excellent with their
customer service. I purchased it at a good discount from
Lashen Electronics, Inc. www.lashen.com in New Jersey. I
could be a promoter for both which says I am extremely
satisfied. (NO CONNECTION TO EITHER COMPANY)
Thanks to all again for the advice.
