Over the last year our system has been periodically blocked from sending mail
into the AOL system. A few months ago, we finally made arrangements with them
to be white listed and put an end to this once and for all. To be white listed
by them, we had to agree to receive any and all complaints logged by their users
about mail being sent from our system and immediately remove the complaining AOL
subscriber from our e-mail lists.

While this seems easy, we found that AOL provides their users a button on their
interface that says something to the effect that "this message is spam" (which
some users may be using as a delete button), and when they highlight a message
and push it, we get a "complaint" logged against us and mailed to us. No one at
AOL reads this stuff, but they do keep track of them and after we reach a
certain percentage of the mail we send vs how many complaints we get, they block
our entire system.

To that effect, AOL users can expect to be removed without notice from our
system if they send spam/complaint reports regarding any mail that comes though
mailman.qth.net including the monthly password reminders.

What you can do to help:

If you have filters set up in your client you should verify that
mail from us is not being marked as spam.

Be sure your're not using the "spam" button to delete mail.

Don't send spam reports because you don't want to belong to a list
anymore. Use the link in the lists footers to unsubscribe yourself
or ask the list admin for help.

Thanks in advance for your help.
