[Boatanchors] "Steam Cleaners" for Boatanchor cleaning?

I notice that a Surplus store 8 or 10 miles from me that advertises to the
computer type trade has a $30 "steam cleaner" in their ad today in the San
Jose Mercury News.

I've seen these things form time to time in those horrid infomercials. They
are supposed to melt away grease and grime and if you believe them you can
use them to clean everything including your teeth!

Has anybody tried one of these on a 50 year old gunky, nicotine coated,
rodent infected boatanchor chassis?

Yes, I'd be careful NOT to use it on silk screening and the like. However
it seems as though it might be something that would be useful if it produces
real steam and it should make it possible to clean with minimal water.
