The spam problem in anything related to Yahoo is easy to
solve.  

If you set up your profile properly AND the list(s) to which 
you subscribe are properly managed, there isn't a problem.
I moderate a couple of lists that are deemed highly successful.

I'd be interested in hearing from you (directly so as not to 
offend anyone?) as to the location of the two other BA lists 
that you mention.
