rust eater with no positive results...  I think the shart is alluminum...  I would just replace it except I cannot find a replacement??
It is a 500 ohm control with a DPST switch(has 4 terminals)...  The DPST switch is necessary although I guess I could put another switch along side the control but after all it is an antique and I would rather ask if anyone can help me with a replacement...  Enough talk!!
