Yes, that's another thing I did check (seems like I checked it all ;-)
Tuning capacitor was good as was the little 15pF grid capacitor buried DEEP
under the bandswitch as I DID manage to replace it without having to remove
the switch and all (with a LONG soldering tip).
I "indirectly" checked the switch wipers by checking for continuity to
ground on the Cathode of the tube (goes through the switch then the coil to
ground) as well as the coil side of the above 15pF capacitor.
To be honest, I can't think of anything that I didn't check or replace,
though obviously there must be sumthin'.
