OK.  No one seems to know whether RFD11V means all RFD11 models (i.e., both 
RFD11A and RFD11B and any others) or not.  

So let's try a different tack.  What was the first year that production 
consumer grade (as opposed to amateur and military grade) radios were marketed with 
printed circuit boards instead of point to point wiring and a metal chassis?  
I obviously lived through that year but none of us were interested in them in 
those days.  None of them had any hefty transformers that could be used to 
put a Command Set, etc. on the air with like the cast-off TV sets did.
