Saturday March 20th is the first official day of Spring 2004. It begins at 1:49
EST I have now finished five years as the NCS for the Hallicrafters Collectors
International Nets and have started the sixth year.
Join us at 12:30 PM EST, (1730 UTC) for the pre-Net portion and then hang around
for the official fling into Sprint at 1:00 PM EST, (1800 UTC). The frequency
will be 7.280 MHz lsb +/- for key clicks, mike splatter and the joyous chirping
of Michigan's state bird, the Robin, as they return from the Carolinas where
they froze their tail feathers off while vacationing for the Winter.
I hope to hear many of you tomorrow for the first Net of year number six. My
relay man, W5JT, is out of town, so I would appreciate it if one of you would
step up to the plate and pinch hit fo rhim. While you are at it, stop into
Lakeland, FL and visit the Detroit Tigers. Maybe you can pinch hit there too, or
pitch, or limp down to first, do a belly smacker into second, catch a fly
without wings or ... They are desperate! Ever since they moved into that big new
stadium with that bank name "Comerica" on it, they have had to look up to see
the bottom! It is sad. No, in this case, pathetic! They lost 119 games last
season! You have to work at it to be that bad, it just isn't natural! The
question is: how does Hallicrafters figure into the game of baseball? Do your
homework, maybe you will find out before the Net! Hint: George Herman Ruth.
