Over the weekend I had an experience with a "find" similar to what some of you
related on the list recently. I was helping a friend clean out some junk
off his back
porch to go to a local swapmeet. All of the stuff had been on the back
porch a little
too long. On th bottom of the pile was a R-391! I asked hop much he wanted for
it, and brought it home. Part of the deal was to trade him some broadcast
quality
video equipment of mine that he has had in his possession for some time.

Unfortunately, it too has been on the non climate controlled back porch a
little too
long, but with the exception of missing the 3TF7 ballast and one of the 6082
regulators, it appears to be complete. It still has the tube pullers and
tools in their
holders on the rear panel, the tube pin straighteners are still in place,
as is the
"Green Gear" and bristol wrench on the bottom side of the rig. Both top and
bottom
covers are in place as well. This R-391 is in rough shape, but I believe
that it could
be brought back. I have made NO attempt to fire it up and will not do so. I
will
entertain all offers for the next two days or so, and if nothing appealing
comes along,
then it goes to Ebay.

I have several pictures that I can e-mail to interested parties. I will
ship the receiver
but estimate $100 for packing and shipping. I would be willing to drive up
to 100
miles one-way from southwest Indiana to complete the deal in person and
save the
successful party the packing and shipping costs.

I am interested in an Icom 706 MKIIG, Yaesu FT100/FT100D, a set of good working
Drake twins (T4XC-R4C-AC4), or an offer to purchase. Thanks for your time
and the
bandwidth.
73,
