I also do quite a bit of selling FOR the widows of two local ARCs with
all the money above cost to sell, going to the widow. In this instance
the
widow is the one we're looking out for and although it's more work
packing and shipping it makes WAY more money for HER to sell on e-Bay.
It's also the volume of ham gear that sometimes has to be moved that
makes e-bay useful and I sure don't want it sitting around here for
years. We do make it available to local hams (pick up only) but at
reasonable prices. We've moved everything from Parts, to the Collins, to
the latest Kenwood, to Towers, to B&W 6100s. I don't buy estates, but
some of the offers I've heard about from those who do ............never
mind, I'm sure there are honest estate buyers out there.
My own stuff I buy/sell on the reflectors, e-Bay, swapmeets, etc.
ForSale-Swap (also one of Allan Waller's QTH reflectors) is one of the
great reflectors to buy/sell on.

I serve on a committee of our ARc that helps SK's estates get something
like
a reasonable
price for their estates and looks like I'm one of the guilty ones. Since
I
specialize in the BA
and surplus gear (others take care of items in their area of expertise) I
have posted items
here. Only alternative to the Newsgroups is to go straight to eBay (I
prefer
not to) and from
what I gather from reading the mail, many of you are not feeling kindly
towards that outfit.
I wasn't under the impression that this group was overly burdened with
buy/sell ads anyway.
