These lists are not to be used by 'any' commercial business for free advertising
even if said business deals in radio equipment or related products. Now having
stated it broadly, let me break it down to what is allowed.
A Licensed Ham may sell his 'personal' equipment on this list or a piece of
radio gear for a friend who may, or may not, be licensed.
A subscriber who is a radio hobbyist may help in the estate liquidation for a
SK, provided it is being sold on this list and not an electronic auction. No
links to electronic auction items are allowed. That is my policy and I am not
going to change it.
Any individual, Ham or not, may sell a product he has designed and manufactured
on these lists, provided it is for his fellow radio hobbyists and is radio
related. Such as knobs, front panels, cabinets, transformers that are rebuilt
and so forth.
Any subscriber may sell his personal collection of parts or 'part out a radio'.
The key word here is 'individual' and the purpose is to benefit Ham radio or the
radio hobby in general. It is 'not' to exploit the list for free advertising to
sell a product that is not radio hobby related or otherwise an obvious attempt
to profit at the expense of QTH.NET which is a not for profit hobby owned by
Alan Waller, K3TKJ, unlike the totally for profit electronic auctions.
As far as dust covers go, provided they are for radio equipment, they themselves
are not a problem. However, if an established commercial registered business who
manufactures a product sold commercially extends the product into the radi
ohobby, such as dust covers, there comes a fine line where it is now exploiting
these lists as a means of free advertising for the entire line of products, not
just that as it applies to the radio hobby.
Simply put, individuals who are radio hobbyists may advertise their products
they themselves make exclusively for the hobby, and not as a commercial business
operation, and post them on the lists. But a commercial business making items
for the radio hobby may not.
Alan Waller, K3TKJ needs to make any final decision on any item that is
borderline and the interested party should contact Al directly. It is his system
being used, and he needs to be the man making the decisions on these issues.
You can contact him at:

Or: 302 875-1358
Please direct any further discussion to Al Waller and not to this list. He is
the one to make the decision, so go directly to the man in charge. Kicking it
around here really accomplishes nothing. What Al says, is policy.
Thank you for your cooperation.
