I have 5 earlier editions:
1st edition, 1935 "by the Technical Staff of "Radio""
9th edition, 1942 has a number of authors including K. H. Rothman, Faust
Gonsett and F. C. Jones
11th edition, 1947 has R L.Dawley as editor with numerous "associates" again
including Faust Gonsett
17th edition, 1967 has Bill Orr as the author
20th edition, 1975 has Bill Orr as the author

No mention of Bill Orr in 1st, 9th or 11th editions.
The first edition was published by Radio Magazine, Pacific Building, San
Francisco, California.
The 9th and 11th editions were published by Editors and Engineers, LTD.,
1300 Kenwood Road, Santa Barbara, California.
The 17th edition was published by Editors and Engineers, LTD. in New
Augusta, Indiana
The 20th edition was published by Editors and Engineers division of Howard W
Sams & Co., Indianapolis, Indiana
The first edition, incidentally, is called "The Radio Handbook for Amateurs
and Experimenters". The 9th and 11th are called just "Radio Handbook" on
the cover and "The Radio Handbook" on the flyleaf. The 17th and 20th are
called simply "Radio Handbook".
I hope this is helpful.
