Occam's razor suggests that if one lister gets a virus laden email from another lister, any connection with random mail searches via Google or some such is unlikely in the extreme. Viruses and worms typically scan the infected machine and use email addresses found there to compose to and from fields in the virus message's headers.
Thus, if one lister gets a virus spam from another lister, someone on the list is likely infected. FWIW.
