All flavors of vintage gear are welcome - (if it ain't vacuum, just hum and fake
it!)
As a temptation to entice you to brave the ravages of the propagation entities
who have flushed twenty meters down the celestial sewer several of the last
Sunday afternoons, I am going to give away, for the cost of shipping, a special
prize tomorrow, July 25th. You must at least check in to win!
If the bands are so bad that they smell worse than King Dong's breath after
eating one of those famous NY Coney Island dogs with triple onions, imported
Italian horseradish and a garlic bun, then the prize will be delayed until the
following Sunday of August 1st. All who check in tomorrow will have their names
included with that second list.
So join us tomorrow Sunday July 25th for the Hallicrafters Collectors
International, HCI, 20 meter Net. The pre-Net portion will commence at 12:45 PM
EDT, (1645 UTC). If you are just so darn anxious you can't wait until then to
check in, I will be on the air testing the equipment starting at about 12:20 PM
EDT, (1620 UTC), so please stop by early and then hang around until later on.
The Net proper will start at 1:15 PM EDT, (1715 UTC). That chattering racket in
my background won't be a faulty relay doing the Limbo Rock, just Frogzilla's
teeth chattering! We are supposed to set a new record low in Michigan tonight.
The same was true of last night. I don't know exactly how cold it did get, but
the Robins were carrying night crawlers that were so stiff they were hurling
them like javelins at some Blue Jays singing off key!
The frequency will be 14.293 MHZ usb +/- for key clicks, mike splatter and the
sound of no interference from anyone by anything from anywhere! Should you hear
this glorious lack of QRM/QRN, please check to be sure the antenna is connected
to the rig!
I hope to hear many of you tomorrow. Those of you who have a QSL card with SASE
from me collecting dust, please fill one of yours out and send it along. if you
do not have a card, then please send the SASE back with a note saying so.
Thanks!
I can use some relay help tomorrow from KG4KZG in FL and K0EJF in CO. Or any of
you in that general geography who is willing to hang ten with me for the Net.
