OK folks, I have a 1940 E.H. Scott FM/AM Philharmonic which weights a couple
of hundred pounds - a boatanchor of a slightly different nature. The bass
speaker, a 15 inch field coil unit, Jensen I think, has a toasted field coil
but the rest of the speaker is near mint.
Over the years I have seen references on the reflector to people who rewind
power transformers and filter chokes. Does anyone know of a place or party
that rewinds or might rewind field coils for speakers? In reality, they are
just filter chokes. I have the coil out as we speak. It is intact and has
one tap. I am in-process of finding the DC resistances of each section.
Thanks & Cheers from Minnesota,
Gerry
