[Boatanchors] 6146 folklore

Evenin' Clive,

I should have been more direct.

I recall that RCA put out many App Notes re use of 6L6s and 6CA7s in various
amplifiers and GE did the same for the KT family; not sure whether Philips
did for EL34s, but Fender, Marshall and Peavey certainly use many of them in
their stage stuff. What I was REALLY hoping to squeeze out of the woodwork
was some app notes on the 6146 family, eg, distortion vs bias and bias
mentality; Raa vs Vcc, Vg1 and Vg2; use in ultra-linear designs; performance
under different levels of feedback; problems with pp parallel designs; need
for grid and anode stoppers; hum bleed-through from heaters; etc.

Yes, I've used 6080s, 807s and 1625s in audio amplifiers for stage work,
too, but not 6146s.

Any links gratefully recieved.

73 de Brian, VK2GCE.
