Some time back Michael in TX offered some of the Bay-Gen radios for sale on this
list. Interesting, as they are powered by an internal generator driven by a hand
cranked spring loaded unit. About one full turn of the crank equals one minute
of playing time. Most ran for thirty minutes or so. I bought one.

It had AM/MW, standard FM and one SW band. Surprisingly sensitive and the
audio is decent. This was a former military item. I think it was intended for
distribution in third world countries where standard power sources, including
batteries, were scarce if they even existed.

I just noticed that Radio Shack is selling one made by Grundig, the FR-200, for
$39.99 It is AM/MW, standard FM and two SW bands from 3.27-6.0 and 9.2-22 MHZ.
It also has a light that may be used in a power failure situation. I am told you
can use the radio or the light, or both at the same time.

The radio supposedly will run from sixty to ninety minutes, if cranked fully. It
also will accept AA batteries as an alternate power source.

I am mentioning it here, even though it is not a Boat Anchor, because many
expressed an interest in the units Michael sold and many never got one due to a
very limited supply. Here is your chance!
