Duanne,

No, not true.  The later RBB's are all essentially the same and the later 
RBC's are essentially the same but only the IF, audio and separate power supply 
is essentially the same between any RBB and any RBC regardless of numeric 
suffix.  The RBB-(*) covers 500 KC to 4 MC while the RBC-(*) covers 4 MC to 27 MC.
