[Boatanchors] Sierra 121

Greetings and salutations to all. I have acquired an excellent Sierra Model 
121 RF selectable voltmeter, with the intention of using it as a VLF receiver. 
I need some help....

The 1080 kHz oscillator works fine, I get a terrific meter reading when tuned 
into a 150 kHz signal from my URM-25D. However, the audio output is near 
zero. I can JUST BARELY hear the 25D... I have checked all the tubes and the caps. 
Everything 'looks' fine........
The "IF Gain" control has no effect on the received signal. I'll be going in 
there with a 'scope, but never having played with one of these babies before, 
I'm kinda lost.

Any words of wisdom?
