[Boatanchors] Waters Compreamp #359

I found a Waters Manufacturing company accessory called the Compreamp =
Model 359.

What was this intended to do and with what?

I'm guessing it's an add on audio compressor for the S line or KWM-2 =
with built in mic pre-am?  That would be nice!
