Greetings fellow BA types,
I have a number of radios with electrodynamic speakers. Some have small
portions of the field coil windings loose on the outside or on edges with
the insulating coating beginning to flake off..
Has anyone sealed these up by re-applying a coating? If so just what is the
coating? A varnish, shellac or ?
While these field coils appear OK (several play at the moment), with the
coating off, there is the potential for a short developing. My hope is to
preserve and fasten the loose wires without any shorts and related problems.
There are only limited areas with the coating coming off, probably from
light physical trauma..
Cheers from Minnesota,
Gerry
