I bought a Extech portable LCR meter that works very well. It uses measuring
frequencies of 120Hz or 1KHz. I use the 1KHz to measure microphone or
speaker impedances. The Extech is US made but I bought it here in Korea and
I paid about 170 US dollars.

Subject: [Boatanchors] lcr meter question
I really appreciate all the support you guys are giving me. Did a search on
lcr meters and found a wide variety. Even went to Tucker and just about fell
out of my chair. In a nutshell: If you were going to buy an lcr meter what
would you buy and why.
Another stupid question: Given that I am going to restore a few recievers,
what functions would be necessary, what ones desirable, what ones just
window dressing, vis a vis an lcr meter.
I am grateful for your patience.
Norm
