I just received a Hammarlund HQ-145A that is apparently modified but modified so professionally that I am not sure if it was a standard mod so thought I would ask the group.
The standard screw terminal antenna connection has been removed and a N connector added. The N connector has a 50 ohm resistor and a series LC circut both connected from the center pin to ground. The S-meter is a Simpson meter labled "Detector Output" ranging from -5 to +20 microamps. The standard 4-pin accessory socket is neatly covered and an 8 pin octal socket is installed near the center of the rear apron of the chassis. Amongst other things the "Detector Output" meter connections are brought out to this octal socket.
There are two stickers on the front panel. First one is a rectangular yellow sticker with "DATC" in red letters on it. The other is a square patch with a blue center showing a blue center with o'scope trace that has a jet and a missile supperimposed over the scope trace in an X pattern. The perimeter is orange with "Navy" along the bottom and "Qualifications Standards Equipment" along the top.
Anyone heard of anything like this before?
Thanks,
Rob Dunn
