Greetings All,

Thank's for reading this message. I have all ways had a problem
cutting and bending sheet metal for my radio and electronic projects. I
have had limited use of my company sheet metal shop but is was all ways
a pain to drag what I wanted to cut or bend to work , and then home
again. Well the folks at Harbor Freight have solved my problem. In there
summer catalog they are selling two " Shear, Press Brake, & Slip Rolls "
one is 30" and the other is 40" model. I have purchase the 30" model, it
arrived Friday and I sent about two hours and a gallon of de greaser
getting it ready to use. It was coated with a very thick protecting
grease. I have seen these in there catalogs for some time, but the cost
of shipping was as much as the item it self. But till the end of the
month there are giving free shipping. The shear is made in China and
seems to be of good manufacture, it is heavy, tipping the scales at 308
Lbs. The 30" model has 1", 2" , 3" 8", and 10" fingers to allow pan and
box forming. The shear will Handel up to 20 GA steel and a bit lager
aluminium. This type of unit is not really made for production work, but
lends it self to small runs and the home owner. If any one needs one I
would say now's the time to purchase one, with the cost of shipping bound
to go up with rising fuel costs this is a good deal. On Monday I am off
to our local sign shop, they allow me to search through there scrape bin
and charge me a minimal amount for the metal. ( scrape piece to them are
more than enough to built just about any chaises you would need ). Also
there scrape comes in a wide choice of colors. Well I think that enough
use of the band width. Let's keep'em glowing.
