I agree with Chuck's identification as DB-23. Info and several good

Info says it was made in 1954. Has three 6J6 tubes. Cute little thing.
I have the larger RME DB-22 pre-selector and HF-10-20 converter
displayed on my web page. Nice gadgets but not highly sought after.
I use the tunable converter for boatanchors such as the SX-62 that do
not have bandspread.
A tunable pre-selector does interesting things if you feed a little
of the output back to the input in a controlled fashion. Turns it
into a regenerative tuner. A simple diode and audio amp turns it into
a radio.
