Thank you Glen. Radio Shack mentioned this to me but I was not sure without
first 'seeing ' it if it would plug into the RCA jack correctly or not. Now I
know it will. Carry on -

Radio Shack has an adaptor that takes a Motorola type
jack that is used on automobile radios and a lot of
older scanners to an SO-239 type UHF connector. These
just happen to work very well on converting RCA type
phono connectors to an SO-239. They fit "inside" the
Motorola connector and "outside" of an RCA connector.

I have used them for literally decades going both
ways. They are very "handy" for the old Ameco VHF
converters that use the Motorola connector and for the
Heath, Collins, etc., that use RCA connectors.

Perhaps somebody somewhere makes an adapter cable from
RCA male to SO-239, but if so, I have yet to find them.
