G'Day Wayne and All,
I thought I would plunge in here at the expense of getting flamed, Wayne
made a good point re: the zero to many argument, I live in a fairly remote
part of Australia and seldom get to ham fest's or to the major cities to get
hold of gear/parts/documentation so I find the occasional pointer to
something of interest on the "e" place very helpful if for nothing more than
the photo's and descriptions. I have seen stuff that I would otherwise not
see in my lifetime.
My personal experience with that auction site has been very good, I had my
collection of Boatanchor's damaged in a Cyclone some years back and through
that place I have been able to get some replacement parts/radios etc to
enable me to rebuild my collection. I am not advocating wholesale posting of
sale items here or pointers to the e place but they have their place and are
helpful when the item is either rare or has some other point of interest.
Having said that I have to respect the list owners view's but I am lucky
that on another list there is the occasional reference to the e place that
has been for me most welcome, many of the user's of this and other lists buy
and sell at that place without "profiteering" from the lists or its users.
73's de Chris
