[Boatanchors] Zorchtronics Eleventy-Seven and the Hammarcrafterkit 666

I'll trade my Statik-Cannardly 75 tube for the very rare Gonkulator!
Perhaps you've heard of the S-C - Strong signals are staticy
and it can hardly pick up any of the rest. ( And it's twice as heavy
as a Crosley model WLW. )

That was deserving of a good pelting with rotten tomatoes,
but I could not resist. *groan*

I do, really, in real life have a Triplett model 666 VOM.
The meter is a bit less than half the size of 603 or
a Simpson 260. Nifty little thing, but I could not imagine
a church handyman buying one it's the meter of the Beast!

And incidentally, the Crosley WLW is a very interesting and
exceedingly rare receiver that was actually made in the late
30's. It had the highest tube count of any radio at the time
and weighed around 500 pounds. From what info I remember,
the thing had the best sound of any radio made in the era,
with 6 speakers including an 18 inch speaker, with separate
audio amps per group of speakers - 3 audio amps chassis
if I remember correctly for a total of 5 chassis in the thing.
(The other 2 chassis were tuner and power supply)
Imagine a receiver nearly the size and weight of a BC 610.

Oh well, back to our regularly scheduled foolishness.

Tom
