Nah, not in my book, Jim. But I'd have to agree with Duane on this one.
The last thing I'd want to see is the QTH lists going the way of the
newsgroups. If you have something you want to sell for profit and wish
to list it here for all your friends to see, why not just offer it to
them to start with? Post a FS ad and be done with it. This depends on
just how much you want to sell or move it and how much you want to
profit from it, I guess. That's the difference - do you want to sell it
here on the lists to those who share information and tips with you, or
do you want to list it on epay for max bux? I've done both, but if
you're just looking for 'a high enough price', you shouldn't expect to
take advantage of Al's good nature or your fellow listmembers' either.
Do both - list it here first for $10000, then if it doesn't sell, list
it on epay. That way your bases are covered and you don't need to post a
link here since you've already offered it.

How? Every link you place with something you have for auction is indeed
trying to enlist people to use that forum. So basically, you are then
advertising to use ebay, especially given that you *could* list your
items FS here as simply as you posted this.

Sounds like you need to get THAT software which allows you to be
notified via email whenever anything fitting your criteria is listed.
THEN you can place it on your WATCHLIST and be all set! It sure would
be easier for you and save others the mess and clutter of seeing ad
after ad posted for your personal convenience.
Again, nothing against epay from me personally. I use it, it's a great
source for some things you'd never otherwise find (found a crystal
oscillator unit for my 1946 300G broadcast transmitter on there
recently) and certainly has its place. That goes without saying.
But for me personally, well....I bought all of my Collins gear the
old-fashioned way: I got off my butt and found it(okay, sometimes it
found me via word-of-mouth), then bought it from the seller, directly.
You'll find far better deals out in the real world than online,
generally-speaking. But if you don't mind paying for the convenience of
shopping from home, more power to you. It's there, it's legal, and so
long as you don't expect the world to change to suit your approach you
probably won't be disappointed. I know I haven't been.
Good luck and enjoy -
