Larry:
Thanks for the info. I looked up an ARC-5 on the web. The ARC-5 / T-21
transmitter looks like the one I have.
The rig looks almost perfect. Nothing seems to be missing except the power
cable and the cover. The only other things I clearly see as being wrong
with it are that the horizontal mounted inductance coil is broken in one
point and it looks like someone tried to glue the wire in place to keep it
from unraveling and there is some slight chipping of paint on the front
dial. Other than that, it looks like it is in remarkably good condition.
All tubes and components are intact and all controls seem to work smoothly.

Well the Freq coverage indicates a command st transmitter. ALso indicated
by the location of the electronic eye tube which was used for calibration
of the set by tuning the transmitter freq dial to the same freq of the xtal
which would have been plugged into the center tube socket at the back of
the radio. To the left side would have been a 1629. Radio operates off of
28V. The lettering of accepted by USN 1943 indicates its an ARC-5 and
therefore Navy, not SCR-274 N which was AAF. So its a T-18/ARC-5
transmitter.
Is it complete, modified, smashed up or what?
