I am looking for some information on an old Navy (probably aircraft)
transmitter model 7916. It is marked on the back of the rig as being made
by the Stromberg-Clarson Tel. Mfg. Co. and is marked March, 1943. The only
other markings are that it covers 2.1-3 MC and has small stamp that says
"Accepted USN"
Does anyone know where I can get schematics for this rig?
One unusual feature of this rig is that in the back of the rig, where it
would have been under a case and would have been very hard to see is a
tuning eye tube. Its clearly a tuning eye tube, but the model number
doesn't register with any tube database I can find. Its an RCA tube marked
only RCA - MADE IN USE and S4. S4 doesn't seem to be a viable model number
and there are no other marking on the envelope.
Any info on this radio would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
