[Boatanchors] Audiophoolishness...

I think the MAIN reason that so many of the glowbug/boatanchor crowd is irate
with the so called "audiophool" bunch is not that we "hate" them, or the
unvarnished fact that they are, for the most part, ignorant gullible FOOLS, but
that they have created a crisis in our "hobby".  This by the astronomical prices
that certain parts have soared to, causing us to abandon certain pieces of
equipment or sell them off due to the high cost of a shrinking parts
inventory.  Naturally, things like 6146's will get higher priced, but who would have
thought the price of some triodes would soar to the lofty amounts they have
now?  Along with this, and even more troubling, is the absolute "snake oil"
tactics used by shysters and promoters in regards to special paints and oils,
silver wound transformers, silver wire, all "oxygen free", that enhance the
audio sounds to immense proportions.  To add insult to injury: if one of these
"audiophool" persons is confronted by another audiophile as to the validity
of these mindless additions to a system, the true audiophile will be belittled
and told he doesn't really have "golden eardrums" required for the critical
evaluation
of the "advanced" system!
As was stated: P.T.Barnham said there was a sucker born every minute?
