When you publically call one person who paid $9,000 for a pristine rx a
fool
because no vacuum tube radio is worth that much, you just branded
collectors as
a group as being fools. =
>
I think you err in that statement. Calling one person a fool is clearly
*not* calling *all* members of a similar classification (e.g., set =3D a
hobby) fools. I think, too, it might be worth considering that how much
money was spent was not really the issue of 'foolishness' but rather that=
it was spent on something patently worthless. =
Example: Its not ipso facto foolish to spend the price of a small house o=
n
a motorcycle, for example, if one wants it badly & has the money (though
other motorcyclists may question the buyer's wisdom & impact on the
motorcycle market). It is pretty inarguably foolish for the same fellow t=
o
buy a gizmo off Ebay for the motorcycle that is purported to
passive-magnetically transmutate water into hi-test gasoline. His
foolishness, though, is no reflection on other motorcyclists. Calling him=
a
fool, while unkind, truly says nothing about the others at all. Similarly=
,
the other motorcyclists would be mistaken to take the comment about the o=
ne
fellow as an insult to all motorcyclists......but they might still put a
whuppin' on ya! <g>
Back to being on-topic......how 'bout them 6L6G's!!!!
