Hi All,
UPS is the worst carrier to use, in my opinion. They managed to dent a metal cabinet NC57. The buyer sent the set back in the original packing and the box looked just fine from the outside. How they bent a metal cabinet without causing at least some damage to the box itself is a mystery to me. Short of taking the NC57 out of the box, denting the cabinet and then putting the set back in the box....
I only use USPS whenever possible now. They aren't as heavy handed.
As far as packing material, bubble wrap and lots of it. Wrap the set until it looks like a bubble wrap cocoon. Then comes the mini air-bags. If I use styrofoam peanuts, I ALWAYS put the set in a plastic bag first. I have had several sets come that were put stark naked into a box, then surrounded (flooded) with styrofoam peanuts. I have also spent hours picking pieces of those little peanuts out of places that no peanut should ever go....
