Good question.  I was Googling around the web ad found 
references to "RCA Global Communications"  but that seemed 
to be a '60's - '70's thing.  The radio might have been 
passed along from what ever that part of the business was 
called earlier and picked up a property tag in the process.

The AR-67 manual says that that radio was intended for 
marine and shore station use, and the "Radio" article on the 
AR-60 talks about resistance to salt air etc.  So, I guess 
that was the application.
