[Boatanchors] What is "QRA"?

QRA - Interogative means, "What is the Name of your
Station."  When I was a Merchant Marine Radio Officer
sailing during the first Gulf War, we passed thru the Suez
Canal a number of times and the Canal Station operator
used it to ask for the ship's name, not call sign.  In my case they knew
WIEE and wanted to have the response
" SS AMERICAN KESTREL".      Brgds, Geo
