[Boatanchors] copper cap rectifiers

A while back I think I remember a discussion about using this product to
replace the tube rectifiers in boatanchor equipment.  The reports I remember
were very favorable in using them because the products have built in current
inrush protection similar to the tube types they replace.  I'm wondering if
anyone in the group has had experience in using them and if anyone has tried
them replacing the 6AL5 and the OA2 tube types also?
