Barry is older than Al. Barry is older than Al. Barry is older than Al.
(Barry speak of "mexican handcuffs" and Al of "chinesse handcuffs" and
before you asked me, don't know which Barry he is).
My tube puller is done of stainless steel wire and it is too hard to
stretch. Don't work without the inner added rubber because it slip and wear
out the nomenclature of the tube.
I have a book named "Afloat shopping guide" section 2, Navsup
0588-LP-460-1200 Dec 1980, where the following is described under
"Extractor, electron tube":
Basket type for 7-pins. 5/8 to 3/4 in. diameter stainless steel wool woven
wire.
Split-tubing type (steel for 7 and aluminum for 9 pins, there are 2
pictures, easy to make a new unit),
Spring steel extractor tong-type,
and tong-type for 4x150A tube series.
and under "Extractor, lamp" but without pictures are:
Miniature lamp tipe extractor (not enough info to reproduce an unit)
and
Syntetic rubber extractor for miniature lamps. One end 11/32 in. tapers to
3/16 in. inside diameter, 3/4 in. deep. Other end 11/16 in. tapers to 15/32
in. inside diameter, 1-1/16 in. deep, 3 in. long overall.
Hey!, please, read up to the end!, don't run out for the scrap of syntetic
rubber you trashed yesterday. It is too late.
Have a NSN 00-288-7679 but it only says:
002887679: EXTRACTOR,LAMP
HANDLE MATERIAL ANY ACCEPTABLE
LAMP TYPE FOR WHICH DESIGNED MINIATURE
EXTRACTOR END MATERIAL ANY ACCEPTABLE
SECTIONAL HANDLE NOT PROVIDED
I can send a scan to any of you with boatanchor or R-390 web page so
everybody can make a unit of the split-tube type.
