I have two simply fabulous IAC double bazooka antennas to sell that will make
your station hear like it has never heard before. They are mono band, forty and
eighty meters. Now they are not in perfect condition and do show some signs of
damage from the idiots driving the quadwheeler that pulled them down, but the
price is right.
The eighty meter is a little crippled in one leg. In fact, sixty three feet of
it is still missing and presumed dead. When the snow melts I should be able to
find it and exhume it from its final resting place and send it to you, so just
be patient. The three feet of coaxial cable from the center mounting bracket is
still attached and I am including the last six feet of the 300 ohm feedline with
nylon rope to the tree still attached. There is a little bark on it from the
Scotch Pine, but it gives it a sort of rustic look. The other leg is in good
condition. The SO-239 where the coaxial feedline connects is there, but darned
if I can tell its condition. It is covered with that coax sealant stuff and
looks like a big glob of discolored modeling clay. The actual PL-259 that
screwed in there got ripped off while still attached to the 9913f coax feedline.
It is not on the end of the feedline, just some shredded shielding and a broken
off center conductor remain. Anything but a clean break. The PL-259 is not
included, no clue where it is in all of the snow.
The forty meter antenna is in great shape, sort of. Now both legs are shorter
than they used to be for forty meters, but with a good antenna tuner it should
work on some band somewhere. Just hope it is one of the bands allocated to Ham
radio. The mounting assembly is good and even has some of the UV resistant rope
still attached to it where the vandals tore it off the tower. But the rope on
both legs where it went to trees to support it is in pretty sad condition. Kind
of frayed like human hair that has spent way too much time in those hot curler
things females use after they soak the hair with that curling goop and then use
a 2000 watt hair dryer to toast it. The split end, dried out and frazzled look.
So you might want to replace the rope. This one still has the 9913f coaxial
feedline attached, all 150 feet of it. The torque from that quadwheeler must
have stripped the threads out, as I can not get that PL-259 unscrewed with vise
grips andchannel lock pliars. So I am including the 9913 feedline, but only
charging you half price because it is used.
Now the moisture did get into the coax fittings and the insulation around the
center conductor of the coax. While waiting for the police to arrive and write
up a report there was this Winter snow storm and it buried the antenna and wires
for a few days. Not to worry though, if you hang it vertically from a tall Oak
tree and let it drip for a few days it should be just fine.
If you really insist on having the ripped off pieces of the two legs, I will dig
them out of the snow and decayed leavves just as soon asSpring has sprung and
the snow melts. I think they are in my neighbor's yard and he gets really upset
when I go over there and dig around with the little back hoe on the rear of my
small diesel yard tractor. He goes to Texas in late March to visit his relatives
who raise cactus and pickle it. I can get the two pieces out of his yard then as
the two Pit Bulls will be at his mother-in-laws while he is gone. Just be
patient.
With alittle work, some luck and a lot of praying these two antennas can work
just as good as they ever did. Maybe better, but perhaps on different bands than
originally designed for. A sure winner if we get that new 5 Mhz band!
So if you are looking for a real steal, here it is. Cheaper price than a yard
sale, no strings or unrotted ropes attached and sold 'as is' with a promissory
note of sending the other pieces when the Spring thaw makes it possible to
locate them. And if I can catch the third cousin of a Donkey who ripped them
down, I will also ship you the back end of the quadwheeler where some of the tie
off UV resistant, mildew proof, rot inhibited and grasshopper chew through
retardant is still attached. No reasonable offer will be refused. You pay
shipping and I will provide a body bag.
Thanks!
