[Boatanchors] Garage Sale Items

Although I am not personally interested in the
Aerotron units, I'll make a couple of comments.

First of all, Aerotron was generally a very competent
manufacturer of commercial FM two-way radio units.
The main problem was that they cost about as much as
the equivalent Motorola equipment and most customers
would not "split" for the cost of Aerotron when they
could get the "name brand". Their repeaters,
especially the MPAC versons, were every bit as good as
the Motorola equivalents. I owned one of their 450
MHz repeaters for over 2 decades and sold a fair
amount of their repeaters and base stations. This was
after I owned the Motorola reconditioned equipment
center for the south-central US. However, I never
sold even one mobile unit! They were just too
expensive and, like I said, if people were going to
pay that amount they wanted Motorola.

Next, AMECO was a branch of Aerotron and that company
is fairly well known around the boat anchor community.
