Hi Dick,

I did a google search for "walter ashe" and the top return was 
surplussales.com and was: "PUB-WAL-WAR25     Walter Ashe WAR-25 Novice Rx               
12.00PUB-WAL-WAT25     Walter Ashe WAT-25 Novice Tx               14.00"

I guess you needed the "e" added to Ash!

I remember the company well and bought mail-order items from them 50 years 
ago.  I think they were located in Kansas City, MO.

Looking at other google hits there are a number that mention Walter Ashe 
being in St. Louis such as: 

"Heathkit DX-60  -- my original Novice rig from the late 60's, bought used as 
a birthday present from "Radio Shack - Walter Ashe division" in St. Louis, 
MO. I guess Walter Ashe had been the big radio store for years, but acquired by 
Radio Shack and permitted to operate somewhat independently for a while. 
Later, acquiring a new HG-10B VFO was another highlight."
