Greenkeyers -

George delivered my Dovetron yesterday at Seapac. It is not new but
is in very nice condition with some scuffs, a couple minor scratches,
and some paint missing under the rackmount screws. Came wrapped in a
thick polyethylene bag and with an attached green tag from Sacramento
ALC stating "Cond Unk", Condition Code "F", and dated MAR 5 1998.

Have not yet fed it any signals, but the front panel test does just
fine. (Set MODE to "MS REV", set AFSK/OFF to AFSK, and you will be able
to tune in your transmitted tones using the cross display.)

A paper label on the top cover says:
A: Mark 1232, Space 1317: 1275 Hz +/- 42.5 Hz
B: Mark 1575, Space 2425: 2000 Hz +/- 425 Hz
C: Mark 500, Space 700: 600 Hz +/- 100 Hz
I note with satisfaction that B came already set up for clatternet. A
is set up for Channel 6 of a 16 channel TTYMUX arrangement, and C is set
up for a common landline frequency pair.

Betcha this Dovetron came out of a TSC-60(V)7 - Sacramento ALC
(McClellan AFB) was 'prime' for the TSC-60(V)7, rebuilt them onsite and
supported them all over the world. All TSC-60(V)7 units had a Tempest
Dovetron, plus all had equipment compatible with the three freqs/modes
listed above.

One other note here... Does anyone have any experience with using
Dovetrons on 85CPS shift? Will a standard Dovetron pick out a single
85SHIFT tone pair out of a full working 16 channel MUX signal? Or is
there a problem with adjacent channel interference from the next higher
& lower tone pairs?

Have fun with yours. And Many Thanks to George Hutchison & Glen
Galati for doing this mass purchase and making the "Big Bird" Dovetron
Distribution possible.
