According to the Chicago Miniature Lamp, Inc.'s "Design 
Engineers' Handbook" the specifications are listed below:
(Print in a fixed width font.)

Are you sure the lamp in your unit is an 83?  The bases are 
quite different and not compatible.  Typical suppliers in the 
USA include Newark, Allied, etc.
