It's good that you're not inclined to "part out" those old sets Ron. After
all, they're history!
Keep your eyes open and one day you'll find those knobs. I have a 1920s
Radiola that was missing one knob. I found it---under a table at a flea
market---after a 20 year search!

Subject: [Boatanchors] Hallicrafters Knobs
Hi all. I am in the process of restoring a S-86 receiver. While it has
little
value as a high-performance receiver, it has sentimental value to me.
All is comong along fine. One of the main tuning knobs was broken (that
fragile lip). I had carefully stored ithem until my new shop was up and
running, at
the new QTH. I was confident I could have repaired it.
I cannot find the knobs anywhere! I have plenty of spare, generic knobs.
However, I would like to find a pair of original knobs for this old girl.
Can
anyone suggest a source? I have come close to buying a clunker S-85 on
E-Bay, but
then, I'd 'have' to fix that one up also. I have a very , very difficult
time
parting out anything.... ha ha
thanks in advance,
ron
