Bill: Its all coming back now. Think I'll will go with CRT or damper. My
brain filed damper tube data in the archives, under "diodes with filaments
and cathodes" and wasn't available for immediate recall. Been using "2 wire"
diodes too long now. Thanks for the refresher.--Mike

Hi Mike - might have been for the damper tube - cathode usually was at a
high voltage and the heater to cathode breakdown spec of the tube would be
exceeded if one side of the filament was grounded.
