A big IF, but if you do have room for two of them I have found that =
wiring a
pair in series will reduce their speed and noise significantly with no =

side effects. Alternatively a resistor in series (sufficient wattage) =
often
works well. And if you put the resistor in the airflow it will reduce =
the
needed size somewhat. I've used this trick on Yaesu FT-101 transceivers
where the TR relay was used to bypass the resistor when transmitting =
(full
speed) and the fan ran at slower speed when listening.=20
