[Boatanchors] INFLATION

Jim,
I did way more than that OM. I did not need any additional rider to cover the
Amateur radio gear, stereo equipment or any other electronics located inside, or
outside, of the dwelling. All the towers, antennas and related structures were
fully covered. I triple
investigated this and got it in writing from the company itself. So OM, maybe
you need to look a little deeper into your insurance plan? All of my equipment
is fully covered under my home owners insurance without any additional riders or
extra costs. If your provider does not do this, maybe you should change
companies.
The only items I needed a rider for were computers where the coverage stopped
at $5,000 That rider for unlimited coverage costs me an additional $15 per year.
I have every item fully documented, all purchase receipts tagged and filed, all
household items photographed, video taped and materials stored in a safety
deposit box at my bank.
I appreciate your slightly sarcastic advice, but I have dotted the 'i's' and
crossed the 't's' If you are paying extra OM, take a hard look as to why.

It sounds like you were counting on your basic homeowner's policy to cover your
vintage gear. Risky. I always identify and list vintage or one of a kind items
with my insurance carrier, pay the associated extra premium and sleep at night
knowing that the specific item is insured at a predetermined value.
