I was just quoting what was written on the tubes that are in my collection.
That would indicate possibly only one manufacturer. Others may use
different 4 digit numbers perhaps. We used nothing but the 4 digit
numbers on the MM600 microwave stuff I serviced away back in the
1970's.

Ah, the Progress Line. I used to have one in the trunk of my car away
back when, on the 2 meter band. Modified the 2 channel radio to 4 channel.
Later, built an AC supply for it so I could use it in the house. I had upgraded
the mobile to a Motorola GGV (vibrator) then upgraded that to a GGT
(transistor power supply).

Where the heck did the time go ?   :-)

Oh yes, by the time we retired the tube type microwave gear, the tube
manufacturers were few and far between and we were reduced to using
Hit Ray tubes, supplied by Radio Shack.
